Maras Group is a privately owned and operated commercial and retail property investment and development business headquartered in Adelaide, South Australia.
The company, which focuses primarily on the Adelaide CBD and the inner-suburban areas, lays claim to a long list of enviable developments, driven almost exclusively by the need to satisfy strong tenant (customer) demand. The group also has commercial property interests on Australia’s eastern seaboard as part of its wider diversification strategy.
Maras Group works industriously with all its tenants to produce outcomes which are timely, sustainable, cost effective and most importantly, of the highest quality.
Maras Group only participates in projects which are achievable, and desirable, as long-term investments. The vast majority of projects developed by the company are retained for significant periods of time – consistent with the company’s long-term investment outlook.
Maras Group prides itself on its in-house management skill and expertise and seeks at every opportunity to ensure that its tenants are looked after ‘beyond the call of duty’ – one of its strongest competitive advantages.
Once a tenant is secured, the company is involved in every step of the development and investment spectrum – from site identification and acquisition, finance, concept design, lease negotiation, full project design and planning approvals through to construction, tenant fit-out, hand-over and on-going management.
Maras Group was founded by Theo Maras AM, who continues today as the company’s Chairman. Since 2007, the group has been managed and directed by Theo’s son, Steve Maras, who has successfully transformed the business since taking the reigns, expanding the development portfolio and consistently delivering strong growth year in year out.
Steve and Theo have almost 75 years (combined) in the property industry and bring to the company an exceptional and diverse mix of experience, skill and success. Both are highly respected leaders in the property, business and community circles.
